Sustainability at our headquarters
Since 2009 our 4700 m2 Belgium Headquarter is fully solar powered. Heating and cooling of our building is done with an ecologic heat pump.
Low energy consumption
A very important aspect in the architecture of our expanded head quarter was having sufficient daylight. Abundant daylight keeps us physically and emotionally healthy. It also minimizes the need for artificial lighting during the day, therefore cutting lighting energy consumption. Moreover, as part of our general energy-saving measures, the bulbs of our warehouse lights are low-energy and have motion sense technology, reducing unnecessary lighting where possible and all electrical circuits in the Best Mannequins buildings are turned off automatically when the alarm is set, to avoid energy loss during the night.
We introduced a ”digital-first” approach in our offices to reduce the use of paper. The little paper we use is properly recycled as part of our ”full waste separation” policy.

Electric fleet
As part of our ongoing commitment to reducing carbon emissions, we have made the conscious decision to expand our fleet solely with eco-friendly alternatives, such as electric or hybrid-electric vehicles. By doing so, we are actively contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution, and our dependence on fossil fuels.
Phasing Out Older Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles
In addition to introducing electric vehicles, we have initiated a systematic process to retire older internal combustion engine vehicles, including forklifts within our warehouse operations. We are proud to announce that we no longer operate any gas-powered forklifts in our warehouse, signifying our commitment to sustainability and a safer working environment for our employees. This step is taken to not only improve the efficiency and environmental impact of our fleet but also to embrace the latest technology and innovation in the automotive industry while promoting a healthier and greener workplace.
Promoting Electric Mobility in the Community
As a company we are committed to being a responsible corporate citizen. To promote electric mobility within our local community, we have established public electric vehicle charging stations. These charging stations are open to the public, encouraging and facilitating the adoption of electric vehicles in our neighborhood. We are pleased to support our community in taking positive steps towards a sustainable future.
Solar-Powered Charging Infrastructure
To further reduce our carbon footprint and energy consumption, we have implemented a state-of-the-art solar-powered charging infrastructure. Our electric vehicle charging stations, including those for our forklifts in the warehouse, are directly connected to a battery system that is continuously replenished by the solar panels on our company's roof.
This setup allows us to harness clean, renewable energy to charge not only our electric vehicles but also our forklifts, making the charging process environmentally friendly and efficient across our entire fleet.
Sustainability at production sites
Sustainability Initiatives
We actively seek and integrate more eco-friendly production materials into our processes. By prioritizing the use of environmentally responsible materials, we aim to reduce our environmental footprint.
Community Engagement
Our manufacturing facilities actively engage with local communities to foster positive relationships. Our reporting includes information about community outreach programs, charitable initiatives, and efforts to enhance the well-being of those living near our facilities.
Waste Management
Proper waste management is crucial in our effort to reduce our ecological footprint. Our comprehensive reports address waste reduction strategies, recycling initiatives, and responsible disposal methods.
Furthermore, we believe in continuous improvement. Each year, we collaboratively review these topics in consultation with our production sites. We work closely with our sites to identify areas where improvement is both necessary and possible. This dynamic approach allows us to stay at the forefront of sustainable and responsible industrial practices, promoting positive change across our manufacturing facilities.
